Privacy Policy
How dpdpact.info handles information, cookies, optional advertising, and affiliate or referral links. This page is informational only and is not legal advice. Last updated: March 2026.
Scope
dpdpact.info is an educational resource about India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework. We do not provide legal advice. For operational next steps, use the compliance portal, compliance checklist, and official resources to anchor decisions in primary materials.
Editorial boundaries and sourcing are described in our editorial policy. Neutral criteria for any “implementation help” listings are on Get help implementing DPDP.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Contact, newsletter, or gated-download requests: what you voluntarily send via Contact, the Starter Pack form, or other forms, if offered. For downloadable packs sent by email, we typically collect a business email, phone number, the requested asset (for example checklist pack), consent flags, and the source page for operational context.
- How we store this information: those details are processed on an application server and kept in a database reachable only from the server (not exposed as a public query API). Download links are delivered by email or a time-limited server-issued URL—there are no permanent public direct file URLs in static HTML for gated assets.
- Technical logs: hosting providers and CDNs typically record IP address, timestamps, and user agent for security and reliability.
- Local storage: the cookie banner may store a consent choice (for example essential-only vs accept) in your browser.
Cookies and consent
We use essential cookies or storage where needed for basic function and to remember your banner choice. If you accept optional cookies, third-party advertising or analytics scripts may set cookies as described by those vendors. Use the on-site banner where available. Visitors in regions with strict e-privacy rules may need a consent management platform before personalized ads; configure that at deployment if you serve those users.
Advertising (AdSense / GAM)
On educational and hub pages we may display third-party ads in
reserved regions below primary content. Ads are
labeled, not placed inside primary legal disclaimer boxes, and
not above the main H1. The AdSense loader
(js/ads-loader.js) runs only when your stored
banner choice is Accept (see
localStorage key
dpdp_cookie_consent value accepted);
Essential only does not activate ad unit
pushes. Configure each ad unit’s slot ID via
data-adsense-slot on <body> or
data-dpdp-ad-slot on each
<ins class="adsbygoogle dpdp-ad-unit">.
This privacy policy page does not load the AdSense
script
and does not render ad units.
Gated downloads, email delivery, and optional follow-up
Where we offer resources by email, submission is sent over HTTPS to our backend; the response does not expose other users’ data. We use the information to send the asset, operate the site, and—where you have agreed and the law allows—may contact you about consultation or related services. Retention and processors (e.g. email delivery provider) follow our operational policies; you may use contact channels in this policy for questions or rights requests as applicable.
Affiliate and referral programs
Some links may earn us a commission or referral fee when disclosed. Editorial coverage is not pay-to-play; see editorial policy. Programs we may use (update this table when you enroll a network):
| Program type | Typical use on site | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Display (Google AdSense or GAM) | Reserved ad slots after consent | Configure at deploy; see ads loader |
| Tool / hosting / book affiliates | Comparison tables or tool pages, marked with disclosure | Add when enrolled; list network name here |
| Professional referrals | Neutral listings on implementation help; no paid ranking | Criteria on that page |
Outbound click measurement
Optional first-party scripts may record anonymous aggregate counts of clicks on labeled referral links (stored in your browser) to estimate interest. No account is required to read the site. For analytics with more detail, use your own analytics stack with a privacy assessment.
